The Actik Core is the head torch we'd recommend to most people. It's bright enough for night hikes and fell runs, light enough to forget you're wearing it, and rechargeable, so you're not forever buying batteries.
On full power it gives 625 lumens, with a beam that reaches 115 metres. The 100-lumen standard setting runs for about 7 hours, plus a 2-hour reserve. The lowest setting lasts up to 100 hours around camp. Red light keeps your night vision and won't dazzle your tent-mates.
It comes with Petzl's 1250 mAh CORE battery, which charges by USB-C in about 3.5 hours (cable not included). If it runs flat on the hill, it also takes three AAA batteries, and the lamp detects which you've fitted.
