72-Hour Power Cut — Family of 4
A practical three-day backup plan for an ordinary family home.
A power cut does not need to become a crisis. This PrepGuard plan helps a four-person household cover the essentials for up to 72 hours: water, power, light, information and first aid, with cooking to be added as the range develops.
Start with what you already own. This is a guided shopping plan, not a fixed kit and not a reason to buy duplicates. For drinking water, aim for at least 36 litres for four people over three days (3 litres per person per day); extra water gives more flexibility for cooking and basic hygiene.
Essential: stored drinking water, rechargeable room lighting, a power bank, an emergency radio and first aid.
Enhanced: add greater water storage, a compact portable power station and better hands-free or room lighting for more comfort and charging capacity.
Premium: step up to higher-capacity branded power and premium lighting where you want more runtime and capability.
Modular power option: RUNHOOD is best considered as one system: the HE1200 Host, compatible EB324 Energy Bar battery capacity and SERI100 100W Solar Panel. Choose the combination around your expected use rather than treating the components as unrelated products.
Prepared doesn’t have to mean extreme. Cover the basics first, then build resilience around your household, circumstances and budget.
